Simone (Leclerc) Martel, 77, a lifelong resident of Manchester, NH and recently of Auburn, NH, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, October 24, 2026 in Auburn, NH following a period of declining health.
She was born in Manchester, NH on December 21, 1948 to the late Armand and Irene (DeBlois) Leclerc.
In the 1980's, Simone worked in the mail room at Digital Equipment Corporation and later worked at various local retail stores throughout the early 1990s'. Above all, her true devotion was to her family, serving for many years as the heart of the "family day care" and lovingly caring for numerous grandchildren and grand-nephews.
Simone was an avid fan of the Boston Bruins, as well as The Price is Right and The Young and the Restless. She cherished taking long car rides to sit by any body of water, but her absolute favorite place to be was with nature, especially the beach-a lifelong passion that naturally grew into her love for taking cruises.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 49 years, The Honorable Andre A. "Andy" Martel, who passed away in December 2016; her son, Steven Martel; her daughter, Lauren (Martel) Stibs; her daughter-in-law, Lonnie Rutledge; and her sister, Lorraine (Leclerc) Bissonnette.
She leaves three sons, John Martel of Concord, NH, Philip Martel and his wife, Stacy, of Auburn, NH, and Matthew Martel and his wife, Kellina Fantozzi, of Manchester, NH; six grandchildren, Ashley, Tiffany, Dakota, Jonathan, Mackenzie, and Ryleigh; a sister-in-law, Sr. Rita Martel, PM of Manchester; and six nieces and nephews, Marc, Monique, Pauline, Diane, David, and Paul and many grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
