Patricia R. Flynn

Patricia Rose Flynn, of Manchester, New Hampshire, and formerly of Harvard, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 26, 1940, in Boston to Thomas and Elizabeth Kirrane, she grew up in Brookline and later raised her family in Harvard, Massachusetts.

She is survived by her husband, James De Zutter, whom she married in 1997. They shared nearly three decades together, enjoying a life filled with love, faith, travel, family, and cherished memories.

Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved first husband of 32 years, Robert Flynn, in 1994. Together they raised six children: Gregory Flynn and his wife Susan of Gilford, New Hampshire; James Flynn and his wife Michelle of Bedford, New Hampshire; Nancy Douglass and her husband Alan of Meredith, New Hampshire; Diane Kenyon and her husband Doug of Gilford, New Hampshire; Debra Nagy of Bow, New Hampshire; and Christine Thomas of Lakewood, Colorado.

Patricia was a nurse by profession, graduating from the Catherine Laboure School of Nursing, but her true passion was her family. She devoted her life to the people she loved, and family remained at the heart of everything she did. She was deeply proud of each of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She felt blessed by the life she had and by the family she cherished so dearly. Her Catholic faith was a source of strength and comfort throughout the years, and she lived that faith through generous service and devoted prayer.

In addition to raising her own children, she opened her home and heart to children as a foster parent, volunteered for Harvard Help, served on the Harvard Women’s Club, served as a hospice volunteer, and for more than thirty years she prepared meals for the Mustard Seed in Worcester, Massachusetts. She also prayed the rosary for her grandchildren before every test, job interview, audition, performance and sporting event. Through these quiet acts of compassion and devotion, Patricia put her faith into practice by caring for those in need and for those she loved.

Her children and grandchildren will forever cherish memories of Christmas Eve at Grandma’s house and summer vacations filled with games, pancake breakfasts, and ice cream sundaes at her chalet near Lake Winnipesaukee. Patricia shared an especially strong bond with her grandchildren, who adored their grandmother and treasured their time with her. Her traditions brought her grandchildren together and created a lasting, close-knit bond among the cousins.

She will forever be their Dancing Queen.

Patricia and Robert had 25 grandchildren. Gregory and Susan’s children are Joseph Flynn, Shannon Flynn, and Julianne Flynn. James and Michelle’s children are Michael Flynn, Matthew Flynn and his wife Brianna, Emma Flynn Bespolka and her husband Carl, Daniel Flynn, Genevieve Flynn, Elizabeth Flynn, Marie Flynn, Elyse Flynn, and Lily Flynn. Nancy and Alan’s children are Patrick Douglass, Luke Douglass and his wife Olive, Jack Douglass and his wife Rachel, and Brian Douglass. Diane and Doug’s children are Allison Kenyon and Abigail Kenyon. Debra’s children are Alex Nagy, Kathryn Nagy, and Leah Nagy. Christine’s children are Danielle Thomas, Rachel Thomas, Gavin Thomas, and William Thomas.

Through her marriage to James, Patricia embraced his six children and 13 grandchildren. She is survived by his children: James and his wife Deb; Phillip and his wife Julie; Jerry and his wife Jennifer; Leah Megan and her husband John; MaryCarol; and David and his wife Misty. She was a grandmother to James and his wife Alona, Katherine, Daniel, Caroline, Audrey, Braden, Erin and her husband Dan, Emily and her husband Sebastian, Sarah, Casey, Alice, Maeve, and Alec.

She was also blessed with seven great-grandchildren: Rachel, Elizabeth, and Robert, the children of Luke and Olive Douglass; Robert, the child of Matthew and Brianna Flynn; Bennett and Lily, the children of Erin and Dan Wilson; and Alma, the child of James and Alona De Zutter.

She is survived by her brother: Michael Kirrane and his wife Mary; her sister: Carol Copanas and her husband Andrew; her two sisters-in-law: Nancy Kirrane and MaryAnn Sonnefeldt and her husband Denny; and many cherished nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Kirrane.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the staff at RiverWoods Manchester for the friendship and kindness they showed to Patricia.

Patricia lived a life filled with love, joy, faith, family, friendship, and generosity, leaving an enduring legacy in all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed by her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends, who will carry her love and devotion with them always.

SERVICES: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 9, 2026, at St. Joseph Cathedral, 145 Lowell St., Manchester, New Hampshire at 11am, followed by a celebration of life luncheon. There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at Bellevue Cemetery, Harvard, Massachusetts at 10am.
