Maurice “Sonny” E. Come, 94, of Manchester, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2026.

Maurice was born on August 7, 1932, to Maurice A. “Doc” Come and Rose “Toddy” Come (Page). He graduated from Goffe’s Falls Grammar School in 1946 and Manchester Central High School in 1950. He married Lillian E. Gryval in 1955. They were married for 48 wonderful years, until her death in 2003.

They had three daughters; Robin E. Burbank (husband David) of Bedford, Mary A. Bellis (husband Arthur) of Darien CT, and the late Lillian Rose Come. They also had five grandchildren; Christopher and Lauren Burbank, Elizabeth Ratte, Amanda Shea, and Jordan Kaloyanides, three great grandchildren; Penelope and Poppy Ratte and Dawson Shea.

Maurice was drafted into the Army in 1954. He served three years in the 8th and 9th Infantry Divisions, attaining the rank of First Lieutenant. He spent the next six years as owner of gasoline service stations in Manchester. In 1963 he entered the wholesale drug business, working for A. Perley Fitch Co., Gilman Bros., JE Gould, and Bindley Western. He was an associate member of the NH Pharmacists Association as well as Maine and Vermont Associations, and traveled extensively over four New England states, retiring in 1998. He was a gallon blood donor to the American Red Cross and a 50 year member to the United Commercial Travelers Association. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 79.

A communicant of St Francis of Assisi church, he was its first altar boy, a member of the Holy Name Society, Bingo Committee, Parish Council (serving as its president for several terms), Finance Committee, and chairman of the 300 Club for about 10 years.

He was an active member of the Central High School Class of 1950 Reunion Committee, which held a reunion about every five years, the 65th in 2015, being the last. His many interests and hobbies included photography, boating, gardening, home remodeling, and automobiles.

SERVICES: Calling hours will be from 4-6pm on Thursday, October 15, 2026 at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am on Friday, October 16, 2026 at St Francis of Assisi Parish, 9 Saint Francis Way, Litchfield. Committal prayers will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 448 Donald Street, Bedford.
