Margaret "Connie" Logue

Margaret Constance “Connie” Logue, 102, of Manchester died July 29, 2026 after a period of declining health.

Born in Norwood, MA on July 10, 1924, she was the daughter of Edwin L. and Mary (McCarthy) Rye. After her education in the Boston parochial school system, she married John H. Logue on September 5, 1949 in Hyde Park, MA.

In 1955, John’s work brought them to New Hampshire.

She had many interests – reading, needlework, crossword puzzles, word games, a good joke and last but not least, her lifelong love affair with the Boston Red Sox. Not just in 2004 and 2007! While certainly not the “avid” fan, she was perhaps best described as rabid.

After all the children were in school, Connie went back to work. She was a secretary for many years to the late William H. Kelley, a Manchester attorney and good friend.

She is survived by five children, three sons and two daughters; Michael and his wife Louise of Chester, Margaret (Peg) Desrochers of Goffstown, Thomas and his wife Maggie of CA, Kathleen (Kathy) Veilleux and her husband Paul of Dunbarton, Peter and his wife Laurie of Manchester; two daughters-in-law, Ellen Logue of Manchester and Maureen Logue of Hooksett; Connie was most fortunate to have known and loved 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also survived by her close and loving cousins, Joan McMahon of Columbus, OH, James Edward (Terry) Tarallo of Westerly, RI and Kevin McCarthy of Glenmont, NY; a sister-in-law, Mildred Logue of Marston Mills, MA and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, John H. Logue, a granddaughter, Isabelle Logue and two beloved sons, John Christopher (Chris) who died in 2009 and Robert (Bob) who died in 2013.

She often said that the greatest joy she and John had was the knowledge that all seven of their children were good people, hard-working, happily married and all great parents and/or grandparents.

One of her most fervent wishes was that her children and their children and grandchildren would remember her as having been fun to be with and that they all know how very much they were loved and would know that she was praying for each and every one of them and that they would laugh – or at least smile – when they thought of her. What more could any woman want?

Connie's family would like to praise the love and compassion showed to her by the staffs at St. Teresa Manor and Waypoint NH.

Calling hours at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm St, Manchester will be Sunday, August 16th from 2 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 17th at 11 am in St Pius X Church. Burial will follow in the NH State Veterans Cemetery.
