Lorraine Y. (Tanguay) Bellemore, age 95, a long time resident of Merrimack, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2026 at Elliot Hospital surrounded by her loving family, following a brief period of declining health. She was the widow of Roger E. Bellemore, Sr. to whom she was married for 57 years prior to his passing in March 2008.
She was born October 27, 1930 in Manchester, NH to the late Ernest & Aurore (Gagnon) Tanguay. She was educated through the Manchester School System.
Lorraine and her husband were hardworking, rarely taking a vacation as they poured their time and energy into their family and businesses. For many years, they were the proud proprietors of Granite State Poultry Farm and Bellemore's Family Restaurant in Merrimack. Later in life, before her retirement, Lorraine continued her passion for caring for others as the Food Service Director at St. Theresa's Manor, where she worked for several years.
Lorraine was a devoted mother who dedicated herself to raising her family and was truly the heart, soul, and glue that held them all together. She loved to cook and took great joy in bringing her family together, especially during the holidays. Christmas Eve was particularly special to Lorraine, and she cherished hosting her family and creating warm, memorable traditions that would last for generations. She also enjoyed gardening and took pride in tending to her flowers and plants.
She is survived by two sons, Ronald Bellemore, of Merrimack, and Michael Bellemore and his wife, Laura of Gilmanton; two daughters, Linda Bellemore and Lori Bellemore both of Merrimack; 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; a brother, Normand Tanguay and his wife Diane of Manchester; a sister, Vivian Blondeau of Goffstown; also many nieces, nephews & cousins.
She was the predeceased by her sons Roger "Sonny" Bellemore Jr. and his wife Linda, Richard Bellemore, and Edward Bellemore; and her siblings Ernest, Roger, Gerard, Donald, Richard and Russell Tanguay, Simone Simard and Susan Clinton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Elliot Hospital for their exceptional care provided to Lorraine.
