Judith C. Sarette

Jun 30, 1945 — Aug 27, 2026

Bedford

Judith C. “Judy” Sarette, 81, of Bedford, New Hampshire, passed away on August 27, 2026, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born in Manchester on June 30, 1945, Judy was the daughter of Stanley and Ruth Ann (McQuade) Szumierz. She was raised in Manchester and graduated from Manchester Central High School.

Judy was a woman who was always busy taking care of someone or something. She worked at Osram Sylvania for more than 30 years before retiring in 2005. Retirement, however, did little to slow her down. For the next 18 years, she worked in Guest Services at Target in Bedford, where she loved meeting people and helping customers. Caring for people came naturally to Judy. It was simply who she was.

Above all else, Judy’s life was centered around her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother and a best friend. She shared 61 years of marriage with her husband, Armand, in the Bedford home they built together 50 years ago with family and friends.

Some of Judy’s happiest times were spent camping with Armand and their growing family throughout New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine. As the years passed and her family grew, so did her joy. She cherished being a grandmother to her 10 grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

Judy was a devoted Catholic and parishioner of St. Elizabeth Seton Church. She found great happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She loved puzzles and carefully keeping her family photo albums up to date. She had a special place in her heart for animals and dearly loved the pets who shared her life over the years, including her dogs and her beloved rabbit, Snowball.

Judy will be remembered for her endless positivity, her strong work ethic and the countless ways she cared for the people around her. She had a remarkable ability to find joy in everything around her, even through life’s most trying times.

She is survived by her beloved husband, Armand Sarette of Bedford; her five children, Kathy Sevigny and her husband, Brian, of Bedford; Michael Sarette and his wife, Tina, of Manchester; Matthew Sarette and his wife, Melissa, of Bedford; Mark Sarette and his wife, Erin, of Nashua; and Keith Sarette and his wife, Jenna, of Manchester; her grandchildren, Michael, Theodore, Nicole, Toby, Jacob, Dillon, Aidan, Caroline, Ava and Gavin; her brothers, Kenneth Szumierz and his wife, Jan, of Florida, and Alex Szumierz and his wife, Claudia, of Arizona; her in-laws Lorraine and Larry Labore or Manchester, and Germaine Foss of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her sister, Patricia Bergeron.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at 11 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Bedford. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
