Douglas R. Ostlund

Douglas Robert Ostlund, 58, of Hooksett, passed away peacefully at his home on September 4, 2026.

Born in Lowell, MA, on January 21, 1968, he was the beloved son of George R. and Donna (Day) Ostlund. Doug grew up in Westford, MA, where he was educated in the local school system. He went on to earn his B.A. in English from Fitchburg State University.

Most recently, Doug was employed in the Customer Service Department at Wellsense, where he brought his patience, kindness, and genuine care for others to his work.

Doug was a man who found happiness in the things he loved and, most importantly, in the people he loved. He cherished his time at the beach, especially at Ocean Park, Maine, where he and his family and friends made so many wonderful memories over the years. Those days by the ocean held a special place in his heart and will remain treasured memories for those who shared them with him.

At home, Doug enjoyed photography, cooking, and spending time in his garden. He loved collecting sports cards and faithfully followed New England’s sports teams. He also had an incredible sense of humor, and his ability to quote movies from the 1980s was truly unrivaled. Whether sharing a favorite movie line, talking about sports, or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Doug had a way of bringing laughter and warmth to those around him. And, of course, there was his dog Lilo, his constant companion who held a very special place in Doug’s heart. The love and bond they shared brought him so much happiness.

Above all else, Doug was devoted to his family. He leaves behind his dearly loved wife of 15 years, Kimberly Ostlund of Hooksett; his daughter, Samantha Ostlund of Hooksett; his stepson, Ralph Weterman of Hooksett; his parents, George and Donna Ostlund of Westford, MA; his brother, Dan Ostlund and his wife, Lisa, of Nashua, NH; and his sister, Deb Wentworth and her husband, Wayne, of Pepperell, MA, along with their children, Allison and Chelsea.

Doug’s passing leaves an enormous void in the lives of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his quick wit, his many passions, and the love he had for his family. While he will be deeply missed, the memories he created and the laughter he shared will live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known him.

A funeral service and celebration of Doug’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 12th in Emmanuel Baptist Church, Hooksett, at a time to be announced.
