David Hood

David Hood, of Manchester, passed away peacefully, on August 21, 2026.

Born November 8, 1953, he was a lifelong resident of Manchester and remained deeply rooted in the community he called home for his entire life.

A devoted family man, David found great joy in simple pleasures shared with those he loved. He was a lifelong fan of the New England Patriots and took particular pleasure in long drives in his cherished Hellcat. Time spent at the pool with his family brought him lasting happiness.

David was predeceased by his parents, Gordon Hood and Gertrude Hood, and by his beloved wife, Doris Hood. He is survived by his children, Scott Hood and his wife Krista, and Stacy Hood and her husband Joseph Ptak; his grandchildren, Augustus Van Wickle, Andrew Hood, Elany Hood, and Ayla Hood; his brother, Bruce Hood; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at Strange Brew Tavern. Details will be shared with family and friends.

In the quiet moments and the ordinary days, David’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
