Cynthia J. Sullivan

Cynthia Allen Sullivan 92, died suddenly on September 23rd surrounded by her family. Cynthia was born August 7th, 1934, in Hooksett, NH to Daniel E. and Dorothy “Stone” Allen. She was an only child, born on her mother’s birthday. She was raised in Hooksett, attended Martins Ferry school, Manchester Central HS class of 1952, Moore General Hospital school of nursing in Goffstown

She was a registered nurse at Boston City Hospital / OBGYN. Married in 1959 and resided in Dedham Ma until returning home to Hooksett in 1967. She was a stay-at-home mom where she strived as a chief care giver and beloved mother and Nana to her two precious grandchildren who she absolutely adored.

She loved her town of Hooksett. She was a lifelong member of the Manchester 1st Baptist Church, a member of their Women’s Union and Littlefield Circle, a 70-yr member of the odd fellows Pansy Rebekah lodge # 90, as Noble Grand, and honored with the Degree of Chivalry, a member of Theta Rho, Hooksett Women’s Club, Hooksett Historical Society, and serves as a girl scout leader and volunteer with the Hookset Lions Club. She served as a Hooksett supervisor of the Checklist for 6 yrs

Cynthia loved to travel extensively throughout the United States and Europe with her husband, and other family members or friends, not including her 26 cruisers. She enjoyed her puzzles, game shows and phone calls to childhood classmates, friends/ family, and old neighbors. She was constantly on the move attending her children’s/ grandkid’s events, from sports, music, history or school activities. She was the family’s historian, chief communicator and was the ultimate friend’s friend.

Cynthia is lovingly remembered by her daughters Pamela Sullivan, Brenda Sullivan Richards and son Town Councilor James A. Sullivan, grandchildren Alexander JM Richards, Brooke Emily Richards. Cynthia was predeceased by her husband, John Paul previously of Hooksett and Dedham in 1995 and her sister and brother in laws Margueret and Werner Staaf of Westwood ma, Patricia and Christopher Donovan of Dedham. MA. She is also survived by dozens of nieces and nephews (grand and great grand), cousins and cherished friends,

SERVICES: Calling hours will be from 4 to 7pm on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at Lambert Funeral Home & Crematory, 1799 Elm Street, Manchester. A Funeral service will take place at 11am on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, at the First Baptist church, 536 Union Street, Manchester.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cynthia’s name to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
