Claire Jeannette (Julien) Bouchard ,98, of Manchester, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026 after a period of declining health. She was born on July 24, 1928 in Manchester, N. H., the daughter of Joseph and Irene (Hebert) Julien. She was a women of faith and longtime communicant of St. Pius X Church.
She started working at a young age as a french chord stitcher in the shoe industry. Since she loved to sew she later worked from home stitching doll clothes, making it possible for her to be home with her children. Later in life she owned her own cake decorating business. She created many wedding cakes for family and friends as well as novelty cakes.
She met the love of her life at a dance. She almost immediately knew he was the "one" She and Maurice graced the dancefloor for the next 50 years.
She enjoyed bingo, bowling, sewing, cooking, baking, crocheting, knitting. Annual Summer vacations at the lake, Sunday dinner with family and getting together weekly with the neighborhood coffee group brought her much joy. She and Maurice were able to travel numerous times across the country and Europe.
Family was always a priority. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a proud mother, memere, grandma and nana.
Her family includes her daughter Claudette Martel and husband Don of Manchester. N. H., son Ron Bouchard of Richmond, Ca., daughter Donna Stavrou of Hooksett, N. H., son Brian Bouchard and wife Holly of Goffstown, N. H. Her beloved grandchildren, Amy Kokas of Nashua, N. H., Kelly Knowles and husband Ken of Exeter, N. H., Christine Kingsbury and husband Kevin of Pittsfield, N. H. Caryann Stavrou of Manchester, N. H. and Colby Bouchard and his fiancée Alexis Peters of Goffstown, N. H.. Her cherished great grandchildren Benjamin Kokas, Emily Kokas, Caitlyn Knowles, Justin Knowles and Cameron Knowles. Claire also leaves behind her sister Lorraine Bellisle and husband Bill of Manchester, N. H., sister-in-law Dot Julien of Manchester, N. H., sister-in-law Muriel Bouchard of Hampton N. H. and many nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by her husband Maurice Bouchard, her siblings Robert Julien of Ct., Paul Julien of Manchester, N. H. ,Maurice Julien of Manchester, N. H. and son-in-law Dennis Stavrou of Hooksett, N.H.
Claire will be remembered for her kindness, warmth and deep love for her family.
SERVICES: Calling hours will be held at Lambert Funeral Home from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 3. 2026.The funeral will be held on Friday, Sept. 4, 2026 with a Mass of Christian Burial being celebrated at 10 a.m.at St. Pius X Parish, Candia Rd. Manchester, N. H. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
